Midweek saw a real surprise in Burnley beating Manchester United, Tottenham destroyed Hull and Liverpool got off the mark with a blistering performance against Stoke.

It was Burnley’s first match in the top-flight at Turf Moor for 33 years and the occassion was marked by Burnley securing an unlikely victory over the Premier League Champions, Manchester United.
The victory came courtesy of a stunning volley from veteran Robbie Blake after a half cleared cross fell nicely for him after 19 minutes.

Chelsea put in a fantastic display against Steve Bruce’s Sunderland to really confirm their title intentions.
The final score was 3-1 to Chelsea at the Stadium of Light. Chelsea came from behind as Darren Bent converted Sunderland’s only real chance of the game.
